Thursday: Chronicle Day
Every Thursday, you gotta get a copy of the new Austin Chronicle. In this single fat weekly freebie, you get the best listings of clubs, movies (including special showings), restaurants & bars as well as the best local political reporting readily available and enlightened commentary from publishers, pundits and the great washed & unwashed masses.
Gotta get it Thursday or you risk missing out on some seriously great stuff happening right NOW or this very evening. The various calendars list enough cultural and political and just plain fun events to keep you busy all week long.
Gotta get it early so you have time to read it all at your leisure, too. Besides all the great listings and reporting, they’re always busy with something special. Just read the annual Short Story Contest winner last week and looking forward to the Best of Austin 2009 issue coming up. Right now, they’re busily gearing up for the March mayhem and madness of South by Southwest (SXSW), the triple threat festival featuring interactive, film and music in a week-long extravaganza.
