Fridge Talk, part 2
In addition to the various “talking” fridge magnets listed yesterday, of course, we have many non-speaking magnets, mostly travel memories with pictures. These allow you a pleasant moment there at the fridge door, drifing back through time & space to revisit via virtual vacation a pleasant place you’ve been before.
So our fridge magnets tell us tales of the times we’ve had and travels we enjoyed. Alaska leads the list for us, with 8 “Alaska” magnets gathered on our 3 trips (so far — we’re aiming to become bi-seasonal eventually), plus a few site-specific magnets:
- Talkeetna, Alaska
- Alaska Marine Highway (more than simply a site, this ferryboat system connects the towns of Southeast Alaska)
- Anchor Point, AK, North America’s Most Westerly Highway Point
The first time we headed to Alaska, we drove up & back. Going north, we danced along the Continental Divide, visiting numerous incredible parks:
- Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument (now Nat’l Park)
- Dinosaur, Colorado
- Yellowstone National Park
- Glacier National Park
Later, we returned by a different route to catch the wonders of the West and the Southwest canyonlands:
Other old favorites come from our neighbor, New Mexico, Land of Enchantment:
- Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
- Tinkertown, New Mexico USA
Closer to home, we have a magnet from the Canyon of the Eagles
And finally: Hollywood! Hooray for Hollywood!
