Monday = Reset Day

Published by austex09 at 7:40 am under Uncategorized Edit This

How about if we rename Monday as Reset Day?

Let’s face it: for many of us, the weekend wipes out the rest of the week as completely as a quick erase on a hard drive. We wake up Monday morning and have to start all over again. And all too often, it really does feel like starting all over again at the very beginning.

So why not just acknowledge this and call it Reset Day? Nobody likes “Monday” anyway, as Marcia Ball explains here. So who’s going to complain about not having Monday?

If you doubt Monday works as a “reset,” just think about those weeks after 3-day weekends where you start back on Tuesday. And it’s twice as hard to get started and all day long, you think it’s Monday. Then Wednesday feels like Tuesday and so on till you stumble into Friday still not quite ready for Tuesday, since you never got a Reset Day in the first place. Do those weeks ever really feel right?

Reset Day would allow you start each week with a clean slate. Even hold-over projects from the prior week look better when you take a fresh look. Reset your goals and priorities and get them straight — for this week, at least. You’ gonna Reset next week anyway.

Happy Reset Day!
