Every Ticket Tells a Story, Don’t It?

I ran across a box of old ticket stubs the other day and lost an hour or more just looking at those scraps of paper. I bethca a buncha boomers got similar boxes stuffed with the remnants of nights gone by long ago.

A friend’s daughter ran across her stash of stubs and wondered aloud why she still kept them.  “Well,” my friend explained, pulling up one then another and telling the story behind each show. “Ohh—I remember this concert, we nearly didn’t get there, I was a bunch of friends driving in from out of town…” After about three such stories, her daughter’s eye hit the constant roll state and so they dropped it.

Me, I could keep going on and on. I love stories and anecdotes and looking at my ticket stubs just takes me right back there once more to that show, that night, those friends, those songs…
